I just hope the villain makes terrible choices that clearly allow the hero the opportunity, means and motive to defeat the villian.

For some reason I have very low expectations for FaWS. I'm sure I'll be fired up by the finale, but I'm just not as into this as Loki or WandaVision. Kinda of feels like the buddy cop filler between the two good series.

(This will get brought back up in 6 weeks showing how much of a moron I am)

This first episode had me in much quicker than wandavision. Looking forward to this series, had a better "marvel" feeling, if that makes sense.

Solid first episode. The opening action sequence reminded me of something you'd see in a Mission Impossible movie - very high octane. The story we're seeing from winter soldier is a gut punch.

They're taking their time setting up the bad guys. I look forward to seeing how the plot unfolds.

That was an awesome first episode!

The canyon scene... DOPE!.... Bucky with his psychiatrist... damn, that was some deep stuff. (Being alone)... Bucky with the older Asian guy, and that being his son!! I was like omg please don't tell him please don't tell him! It was funny how he said people taking pictures with tigers on dating apps... I'm guessing that was shot in 2020 when tiger king was big? I liked seeing Rhodes in there, wasn't expecting that, hope we get more random small cameos.

As far as timeline... we are post blip... wandavision happens like weeks after... spider man 2 was 3 months after? And is this somewhere in that ballpark as well?

Spiderman was 8 months later, this is in between as C@LAg said

I loved this episode. That opening sequence was so great.

Loved Wilson and Rhodey talking in Cap's museum. Very poignant handing the shield over.

Loved the flashback for winter soldier and his therapy scenes. Did not see the dad coming.

If these shows give us quieter moments like this, then I am in all the way.

Also that betrayal by the US to Wilson and getting USAgent in was a great way to end the episode.

EPISODE 1

High marks! The "canyon scene" has been done 100 times, but it still makes for fun action, and it was a great way to reintroduce Sam's skills and abilities, especially how he uses redwing as a wingman.

Marvel could do an entire series just on Bucky's quest for atonement, and Ep. 1 was a good introduction to just how difficult that will be.

Thought the story with Mr. Yuri was a bit rushed.

Overall, great intro episode.

You know what bugs me the most about this?

The ****ing flag tattoo is facing the wrong way.
Actually, it's the nose ring. That should get you banned from life much less sport the CA shield. Hopefully, he's having to defend himself against people trying to rip that thing out of his face and he loses.

Loved the first episode. I wasn't sure how fast (or if) I would be able to get back into the characters and stories. But both Bucky stories and Sam stories were compelling and had me "in" on narrative alone.

I think the revelation about Bucky was the most moving... audibly had saying "no... uh uh". I'm sure seasoned movie watchers or critics may have seen that coming, but I did not.

Oh and something seems a little off about Sam's buddy who is off investigating that movement... got my eye on him.

...so, here we go again!! Love it!

Anybody else notice a change in language? Seemed to be a step up in profanity from what I'm used to from Marvel.

Yes I noticed this as well. I always screen marvel content before my kids watch it to make sure it's ok or I can talk them through it or distract them in certain parts, etc. this one had several useless S-bombs that I kinda thought "why". Makes me think twice about showing the kiddos. They probably had as much language in this episode as I would hope or expect in a full length feature.

Stronk start. Loved Sam & Rhodey talking. No time for that in movies, it's gotta be onto the next thing or only the leads get heart to heart conversation time.

Not much else to say, just good solid stuff so far.

Also in case anyone missed it... that is Batroc the Leaper, last seen on the boat in Winter Soldier, that Sam fights in the first episode. Yellow flight helmet is a great bit of comic book detail as well.

Edit: think I heard two S-bombs

Casually working in Batroc and Rhoadie was pretty fun. Not too long ago, that would have been a big reveal. "Wow! Look! This person you saw one before exists across movies!"

Now it's just Friday. And it's such a cool new normal.

I forgot about Batroc but Rhoadie felt really organic being there. Just a Friday

I enjoyed it, but it was underwhelming and I thought the production value wasn't great at some points.

The opening action scene was cool, but was really disjointed from the rest of the episode. Post blip world chaos is I good playground for the show, but the quiet parts needed more time to breathe. I did like seeing War Machine. Hopefully he suits up at some point.

Boy, I thought the opposite. I'm no expert and usually don't notice such things, but I thought it was big budget feature quality.

I really enjoyed the episode. I was in from the beginning.

Eh production value is probably the wrong word, because it was certainly all very expensive. Some parts just seemed off.

Actually, after thinking about it for a while I think I figured out the problem. There was nothing fun about that episode. It was good world building, nice to see the characters again, and the action sequences were very Marvel. But it was just gritty the whole time. I'm sure we'll get the fun buddy cop movie thing starting next week, but we could have used some of it in this one.

They left the cooked seafood in the truck bed how long??

Decent first episode. Wasn't bored, but not super intrigued. Will keep watching.
