After the casting of Oppenheimer, and actually most of his other films with the exception of Tenet, I don't quite understand all the pushback against BIPOC that Nolan is finally embracing.
We have to remember the story is universal, and we are all human.
We also have to remember that since the 96th Oscars, films must meet at least 2 out of 4 BIPOC-based standards (via a confidential RAISE form) to be eligible for Best Picture. And, of course, the SAG-AFTRA Diversity-in-Casting Incentives.
I think we all should be able to agree this film deserves to compete for the top award?

The pining for Diane Kruger or another actress who identifies as white ..... WITHOUT the acting comparison analysis necessary to view her role as against the new release due to not having seen this film, really is a tell.
