I appreciate your response. I should have used a different emoji to indicate the rhetorical nature of my question. I think both responses I got are correct. They oppose Trump on everything AND NATO has become another yet another socialist system wherein the wealthy are siphoned for resources to support the entitled who contribute little and by-and-large, have become disdainful towards their sugar daddy.

Your premise, the left hated NATO until Trump they didnt, is false. I'd love to to know actual data or previous political statements from actual Democracy leadership (not backbenchers) that supports this. This feels more like vibes and painting 'the left' as a purple haired butch lesbian with a septum piercing.

As for the actual content of NATO, were really going blow up the alliance, the dollars reserve status currency, and nearly a century of trust based alliances because Trump didn't get a Nobel Prize?

I didn't see mention of Subarus and cats so not sure the description of Dem leadership is accurate.

NOTHING has undermined the effectiveness of NATO than Dems sending BILLIONS to Iran to propagate terrorism around the world, building Nordstream pipelines to become reliant on Russia and give them wealth beyond measure, or allowing the Chinese to setup shop in every corner of the world. Oh, add in the EUs open borders policy as well as the ones Dems do when they have the WH.

So explain to the class how EU opening borders to non-NATO countries helps NATO? How does supporting Palestine and hating Jews strengthen NATO? How does their disrespect of our POTUS by their complicit media who spread lies about him strengthen NATO?

Folks act like NATO benefits the US. It does NOT. It's the old version of US AID and it needed to suffer the same fate long ago.

I cannot name one thing democrats have advocated for in the last 20 years that is good for America or Americans.

Curios why he is taking this tactic when closed-door diplomacy might yield similar results without the hubris.

Rubio and team is the behind the doors team. Trump is the circus act out front that keeps everyone guessing and wondering if he is serious. Pretty brilliant when it works

The bolded part is obviously the big unknown in this case. What happens when it doesn't work? I like Rubio and think he's been very effective. I can see the barb aimed at Norway because the Norwegian Parliament appoints the board members to the Nobel Committee but JFC, this one is pretty extreme, even by Trump standards.

Sorry. I have never heard a democrat anywhere voice support for NATO. They hate our own troops. They only seem to love Hamas, Hezbollah, ISIS, Iran, and Ukrainian fighters. They never pass up an opportunity to fund those soldiers.

Bingo.

But the left view the Europeans as the epitome of advanced progressivism. They have all the answers the libs here seek. Subservient weakness to other foreign powers, wide open borders, excuse Muslim violence and persecute Christians for riling the Muslims up, socialism, and that rich people are evil unless you see them at Davos then they are demigods who must be followed without question.

You make a point many people continue to look right over. If the Danes or anyone else in the EU were serious about Greenland, they would have invested more in it over the decades, not let the people live like cast asides.

The Danes have been woefully inept at developing many meaningful economy in Greenland are absolutely incapable of supporting and providing for security of the place without our involvement.

Basically we let the Danes have a toy to play with and it's time for the grown ups to put away toys and get strategic about long term security for our hemisphere. Thank God Giant Golden Balls Trump is doing something about it.

Spot on. America needs to stop feeling bad for being a military and economic superpower and leveraging it to our benefit. It has kept us relatively safe for 80 years, and now we adapt to the new geopolitical realities and hopefully keep it safe for the next 80. The world is a better place with a strong United States, and particularly a Western Hemisphere prepared to defend itself against all foes.

2/3 of the Greenland lies within the Arctic Circle and 80% of it is covered by thick ice sheets. Pray tell, what sort of economy do you think they should be developing? Maybe they should copy the San Antonio Riverwalk and wait for the tourists to show up like OKC did?

And you keep writing that we need to get serious about our security even though we already have a base there and free rein to do whatever we want. At this point I'm going to assume that you're intentionally ignoring reality to regurgitate canned lines.

It is absolutely amazing to me and I am sure to others that people will refuse to see anything good or rational about DJTs policies and actions.

Look at VZ. First Trump was evil war mongering murder of fishermen driving boats with plastic wrapped cargo, carrying guns, with 5 outboards strapped to a john boat. Then he was in trouble for not rescuing survivors. The left even claimed drug runners in subs were potentially fishermen. Then that all failed it was Trump murdering people who had no choice in life but to run drugs.

Then he arrests Maduro who has done everything he can to not only destroy his own country but the entire western hemisphere while he's at it. For that bold action he is again labeled a war monger, Randy & Tim Kaine are pitching a toddler tantrum but Trump didn't beg them pwetty pwease first, now its that he made an error letting Rodriguez have an interim role until Machado could safely return and legit elections can be held. I mean, sure the world is a much more dangerous place with Maduro in jail and investment in VZ and welcoming them back to the global economic stage. Just terrible Trump.

His war on drugs and his commitment to getting criminal aliens out? The numbers speak for themselves but it's still the TDSers hating on the how cause they look ******ed if they challenge the what, why and result.

I think most who hate Trump secretly wish Obama was back at the helm.

Actually the big stockpile is closer to El Paso. I am also know rare earth elements are a misnomer and that our key to getting the production going strong here is removing environmental regs put in place by the libs and their limp wristed cohorts.

And though I imagine Trump is probably the worlds leading expert on hair dryers, if we can extract oil from several thousand feet of rock I think we may have the talent to get at rare earths under some frozen water.

Because it is only one of the many great reasons for Greenland. A rationale many people understand as it's already been overblown for years.

And the driver of that low price is 100% China and their manipulation of the market and their always unsavory practices of labor, process and environmental impacts of China being arsehole.

You think it's better for China to control Greenland? I mean it would not surprise me if you felt that way. Seems a lot of Trump haterz think China is the better alternative to Orange Man accomplishing anything.

Bud…last year 15 Chinese vessels sailed to Greenland. Long Beach gets more than that on a Tuesday.

Are Chinese Forces getting ready to invade?

Has the PLAAF flown by?

This thread is hilarious.

Trump is going to get Greenland for the United States. If you doubt it, then you have not been paying attention. There is a "process" as to how this will play out. Stop crying about how the sausage is made.

Let me fast forward for you and tell you what the end result will be:

The United States will buy Greenland. NATO will still exist. The tariffs and trade deals will be as previously negotiated.

It really feels like this is being done in such a way to maximize the value as a distraction from other administration pain points…Epstein files, ICE related controversy, whatever is actually happening in Venezuela now.
