That's where I'm at. I've seen them the last few times they've come. The only players likely not available are (Saka, Tierney, Xhaka, Leno, Martinelli and Gabriel) due to NT games/rest. Plus playing Inter will be cool.

Arseblog says actively pursuing gk Andre Onana. Onana is currently serving a 1 year suspension for testing positive for a banned substance. I guess that makes him cheap.

He appealed his suspension yesterday. If he loses appeal, he is out till Jan. If he wins, he could be available for the start of the season. Main drawback with the Onana deal is that no matter what we would be without him in Jan & Feb due to AFCON. Rumored deal is between 2m & 9m euro depending on the results of the appeal.

Must not be. Seems 70+% of the players we are linked to are AFCON bound in Jan. With no EL/CL we have the opportunity to run a leaner squad and cut payroll. If we sign all these African players we will have to keep a bigger squad just to avoid playing nothing but academy guys in Jan/Feb.

While frustrating, its only due to Covid that AFCON is back to winter 2022. It had been moved to be June/July like most continental tournaments going forward.

Doesn't change the fact that next season is huge for the club and we can't really afford to have a bunch of key players missing lots of games

If this is true, I really hope the price tag turns us off. Really don't think he is the right guy for the #10 spot and he is going to expect to start which would ultimately take playing time away from ESR.

Yeah I'm not sold on him either. If the bid is true, I have to imagine that means we've already decided/ruled out Odegaard who is probably gonna get a good shot at Madrid with Ancelotti now that Zidane is gone.

The club announced that they're releasing MO, which doesn't mean much.

MO aint coming back... Ancelloti has already made comments about using him in the MF rotation next season. And even if they were willing to move him the asking price is/was 60m. No way that we have a big enough transfer budget to spend 60m on one guy this window.

Seeing some rumors that Tuchel may want to bring PEA across London. I typically don't like selling top players to EPL rivals but this is one I don't think I would have an issue with. Curious what kind of cash they may be willing to offer. Wouldn't mind talking about Abraham and/or Gilmour as part of a swap deal.

You assume he was actually a target. Ive seen other boards claiming they cant find any legit Arsenal sources that will confirm that we ever submitted a bid. Lots of speculation that we were used to drive up the price.

Its the Arsenal way.

But I'm not upset we missed out on spending 38m for a Championship player. I wouldn't mind having him for cheaper, but I don't think Buendia would have solved our issues.

I will say it seems we don't really have any clear known targets and I have little faith the Kroenke's are gonna open up the checkbook

If we are gonna stick with a 4-2-3-1, go snag Michael Olise from Reading. He is younger, HG, a natural #10, put up solid stats (7g & 12a in 44gms) for a less talented team and will cost half of what Buendia cost.

If we are gonna move to 4-3-3, go snag Houssem Aouar. There are rumors that Lyon are gonna sell for 25(ish)m.

Rumor i saw a few weeks ago was that they wanted 35m. I would be WAY more willing to do 30-35 for Neves than I would Buendia. Partey, Neves & ESR would be a pretty strong MF.
