Seeing some speculation on another board that we may be pursuing White as an inverted RB. Arteta seemed to like Chambers in that role and White is a younger, more mobile, higher upside version of Chambers with experience playing multiple positions including DM. This theory is somewhat strengthened by the link to Adams as a RB option when he is a natural DM that has spent time at RB & RWB. So its possible we could be looking at a back line of Tierney, Gabriel, Saliba/Holding & White.

Agreed. If they are gonna loan him again I hope it is to a smaller EPL side (Newcastle, Southampton, Brighton, etc...) that will play & develop him. That way he can prove that he is good enough to play for us and either A) Arteta will quit being so damned stubborn and give him a legit shot the following season or B) whomever takes over after Arteta is fired will have a good young HG CB to work with.wangus12 said:

Something to think about RE Saliba... we haven't actually heard from the club or Ornstein about what the plan is. What we have heard is a bunch of journo's claiming what will likely happen. Was just watching...

Could also get a starter at RWB, use AMN as primary backup for both sides and find a 17/18yo for cup matches.
CB - Could explain the addition of White. 5 man rotation of Gabi, Saliba, White, Holding & Chambers for 3 spots would make much more sense. And in that group you would have 3 (White, Chambers & Saliba) that are good at progressing the ball via dribble & pass.

Reports from France claiming that Edu has been working on a transfer for Eduardo Camavinga somewhat behind the scenes for 2 months. Camavinga prefers a move to PSG however PSG have a fairly crowded CM for which they just added Wijnaldum. On top of that they are on the verge of spending 70m euro on Hakimi, signed and are rumored to be looking at a couple more 40-50m euro deals. All that to say that they may not have the room or budget for Camavinga and Rennes are gonna be very reluctant to allow his contract to run out (next summer).
AS.com claims that Arsenal have told Alexander Isak that if he is willing to move to Arsenal they are willing to pay his full release clause (70m euro).

1. All these rumors are journos trying to make sense of the Ben White purchase and Arteta gives Saliba a legit chance this season.
2. Saliba is loaned to an EPL team and if that loan is successful he comes back the following season and challenges for a starting role.
Thats what I'm hoping for as well
If my #1 plays out and given Saliba's performance in Ligue 1 as well as his effectiveness on the left, I could see a scenario where Saliba & White are our starters by end of season. I like Gabriel but Saliba's performances in France are generally better than what Gabriel showed there and both Saliba & White are more mobile as well as better passers.
Seeing several claims of Arsenal's willingness to sell Holding for the right price (supposedly 30m). It's early but seems like the White fallout narrative may be changing. Saw an argument on another board yesterday that suggested that we could easily get Saliba 30 matches next season if we play him in all cup matches and rotate him at both LCB & RCB for the occasional league match.
Also saw an article quoting a Chris Wheatley interview where Chris stated that Arsenal are preparing offers for 2 separate players (other than White & Lokonga) totaling in 80m. No word on who the offer may be for but given some rumors I saw in the last couple days I am wondering if they may be for Locatelli & Camavinga.

Charles Watts said on the Arsecast that the Saliba rumors were coming from his representatives and that Arsenal haven't told him anything.
Aston Villa came back with a 30m bid for ESR. Seems to me that they've already sold Grealish and it just hasn't been announced yet. I'd say they probably need to get to 65-75m before Arsenal sell.
If KSE ever want to be in the good graces of the fans they wont consider selling ESR, Saka or Tierney. Hell look at the fit people are throwing over the rumors that Saliba could be out. What do you think the reaction would be if one of those 3 was sold regardless of the price.

2. 19 yo Real academy prospect Miguel Gutierrez. Considered a VERY promising prospect with less than 10 first team app but is blocked by Marcelo & Mendy.
Digging some and Benfica fans don't seem to rate Tavares. Only positives I have seen are his pace. Not sure what Miguel would cost but I would lean heavily towards him as my pick. I like that he is well thought of by the fans and that we don't have to worry about HG status for a couple seasons.

Do not like Tavares. Dude is not all that great and has an attitude similar or worse than Guendouzi

We may have checked in on Tavares but I don't think our interest is near as strong as many publications are claiming. Likely another case of Benfica using us to drive up the price for the other clubs (Napoli, Lazio, Southampton) said to be interested.

Starting to see reports that we are gonna run with Chambers & Cedric at RB next season. I'm guessing this is a combo of not being able to get rid of Cedric and teams being unwilling to part (at a reasonable price) with the guys we would want at RB.
