Gotta give props to Gio tonight. Dude was in a groove and was mowing us down one after the other.
On the upside Wandy looked really good too and with a 1.39 ERA his trade value is only climbing.

Looks like we are making our way back down to the bottom of the standings.
We just need to find ways to win these close games. There hasn't been a game all year that we haven't had a chance to win. We just need to get that clutch run home or hold on to a lead, etc.
Keep in mind, this is a young team. As they get more experience we might start see us winning some of these 1 run games that we've been losing lately. We might not be a good team this year, but I can definitely see improvement from last years team (although that's not really saying much).

I really loathe umpires who make up their own strike zone. Your job is to enforce the rules not make players have to adapt to your own personal ones

Fun night tonight for the Stros. It's too bad the Rockets had to spoil the fun though. It could have been a good night in H-Town if the hadn't lost to the lowly Hornets
Finally! Now I can go back to printing my world series tickets!
It's early, but our young Astros have outscored opponents 57-53 and outhit them 118-115. If they could get a few hits with RISP, their record could be much better than 5-8.

A few things that have stuck out to me so far:
Shaefer is a solid leadoff hitter who always seems to find a way to get on base. Whether it be a hit, bunt, or walk dude seems to always be on base.
JD Martinez's patience at the plate is impressive. He doesn't get anxious and works the count into his favor and is willing to walk if that's the case.
Altuve hits the ball hard for a 5'0" second baseman. His double last night and the rocket he hit to Zimmerman Wed night stand out.
JD's defense is somewhat lack-luster. Guy seems very hesitant to bust it and make plays. Also seems some of his throws are weak and off-line.
Starting pitching I think is pretty good right now. Our guys seem to be out there to pitch and pitch like they have a chance to win (as opposed to last year). It was good to see Norris not COMPLETELY implode last night after giving up the four runs.
Carlos Lee is fat and useless.
Dave Clark is fat and useless.
Overall I think the team is really fun to watch and if they catch a few breaks here and there we may not end up in the cellar again this year.
**EDIT -- Jason Werth was quoted as saying spomething along the lines of he was somewhat impressed by the team and we are better than some people think or what our record says. Can't imagine the 'Stros have heard compliments from the opponents in quite a while.

The Astro's aren't getting any help from the umps. There have been a few pitches on full count by Happ that should have been strikeouts but ended up walks.
