Here's an interesting thing about Justin. If you take his HR rate and extrapolate it out over 500 plate appearances... He would hit 27-28 HRs. Granted he's not on pace to get that, but the guy has some raw power, plays plus defense, and runs well... He just needs to carry a league average OBP and he's above a replacement level player. Right now his OBP is .317.

You're supposed to beat the "bad teams." I'm just happy the "bad team" in this case wasn't us for once.
No, the Astros are just as bad, if not worse than the Royals. They Royals actually have a lot of young talent in the MLB and in the minors. They'll actually have a good team next year. The Astros, not so much.
But I expected Sanchez to give up a lot more runs. He walks/hits to many batters every game. I didn't expect him to throw the ball away twice going to first though.
Tonight should be fun. Hochaver will throw 5-inning of one run ball.....and 1-inning of 5-run ball....pick your inning. Fortunately (or unfortunately if your Colemen) the Royals got thru the game with only 2 pitchers last night after the pen got used up over the weekend. Hell...SP Bruce Chen got the teams first pinch hit as a pitcher, EVER!

Everyone who follows baseball, even just a little bit like me, knows the Royals have the best minor league system in the MLB. My point is they have a very bright future and pretty much everyone agrees that as soon as they get a good starting pitcher, or two, they will be a contender.
The Astros need a lot more than a good pitcher or two to become contenders.
The Astro's minor league system was a mess just a few years ago and it hasn't exactly rebounded completely. Sure, there is SOME talent, but it's not bursting at the seams. Hell, even Minn. has talent in there system. They have a long rebuilding road ahead. It's going to take 4-5 years to get there (they lost 106 games last year - and a lot of poeple were joking they'd lose that many this year too).
The Royals are only a year or two away. That's why I said they're a better team right now.
I think it can be argued that the Bo Sox and the Yankees have the best minor league system as they just use the rest of the MLB...

the royals have the best farm system in the MLB, just ahead of the rangers. astros on the otherhand, not so much. it will take awhile for them to build back up their minor league ranks. hope that's soon, would love to see the stros be competitive again.
The Astros minor league is middle of the pack right now. Although with their draft, I could see them jumping into the 6-8 discussion. I really think they had a fantastic draft.
