Exactly... I'm not saying that you can count on all of those guys to make it to the MLB as an All-Star, but this system is now starting to rebound and have depth... meaning that there are lots of guys who are likely to at least contribute at some point.



DDJ may not have blown the top off of it yet, but his line this year is .267/.371/.360/.731.

He's walked 13 times in 75 ABs for a 15% walk rate. His strikeout rate is still a tad high at 22%, but you have to remember that DDJ turns 20 in August. The dude is still 19 years old. He will develop more power and still has a lot of overall development to do. You do not write off an athlete like him at 19 years old.

I came across an interesting fact while reading some minor leageu blogs. As of a couple of weeks ago, not a single player from the Astros 2007 draft is still with the organization. No major league players ever produced. That has to be the worst draft in MLB history. I cant imagine one worse.

So I've been working on a stat that does a couple things.. mainly showing how useful someone is with runners in scoring position. Its pretty accurate so far.. Showing that chris johnson is useless and that travis buck is more useful than one would think. I'm going top test it out some more.. But it gives a value to each player based on pretty much how clutch they are. A guy who gets on base alot without many rbi chances will hover around .8 while a guy with lots of chances who comes through alot while hover above 1. A matt kemp will be around 2-3

No because this weighs situations with more runners on base differently than those with nobody on base. If you fail with the bases loaded, you are actually penalized with this stat. Vice versa, if you succeed with the bases loaded, you get rewarded.

I was so happy when I heard on the radio Carlos Lee got a sprained ankle. I personally want to see young players out there that may actually help the Astros become good again in a few years.
