Frok,

I don't know for sure, but I pulled up Cosart's pitching logs, and this month his last two outings since being sent back to AA has been May 13th and May 18th. So based on the assumption that he pitches every 5 days, he'll get the call on the 23rd. Again, I don't know for sure. That's just what I would guess

I checked their website already. They only list the next starter from what I can tell. I don't know the rotation to be able to figure it out on my own.

Altuve with a monster shot and Lowrie follows with a double. I love those two guys. We really need a decent 3 hole hitter and I cant wait until Singleton gets here to fill that need.

For now, I think we need to send JD down and bring up Ruggiano. Dude is on fire in AAA.

Im telling you, Ruggiano could hit in the 3 hole and finally bring SOMETHING to that spot. JD needs to fgure out his funk and I think a month or more in AAA can help.

Send JD and Matt Downs down and call up Paredes and Ruggiano or Fernando Martinez.


Anyone know anything on Adam Bailey in Lancaster? Had a great season in the minors last year, very consistent with power, promoted from Lexington to Lancaster to CC. Now back in Lancaster but hitting well.

Adam Bailey seems just like the Brandon Barnes, Jon Gaston, Jacob Goebbert type they we have always had tons of. Above average minor league talent who never showed enough to be called to the majors.

With Springer for sure on the fast track, Im not sure this guy has any more future than a Brain Bogusevic part time filler. Who knows though.

Wilton just went into beast mode. Runner made it to third with one out on a throwing error and an amazing superman dive. Wilton shrugs it off and strikes out the Cubs best two hitters.

Wilton is an outstanding reliever...too bad he can't go every game and we get stuck watching Abad and others give up runs constantly

Just my $0.02 but I don't think this is the way to go.

While the team is playing well this season is not about winning but about building players for the future and seeing what they got. JD's a big boy and needs to work to get himself out of this funk. Part of being a successful MLB player is grinding it out and getting it back on track.

As for Downs, he's going no where. Guy is nails off the bench as a pinch hitter and a nice tool to have to make spot starts at various positions.

I agree. In this situation, I let JD see if he can get it figured out... He still walks some and tonight he drove in the game winning run. If he was becoming a drag on the psyche in the club house, I could see it then also... but by all accounts, JD is a great clubhouse guy and not letting the slump affect the psycology of other batters.


Matt Downs is a huge piece to have coming off the bench. He's a key pinch hitter and his BABIP is exponentially low at .140. He will regress upwards and bat around .240 to .250.


I wish Ruggiano the best, but he's 30 years old and just a AAAA player at best. Bogusevic is 28, provides plus defense, and will not pass through waivers if you try to put him AAA. Probably the same with Justin Maxwell. He's a plus defender also.

Let's go for the sweep tomorrow. I am just very happy to see this team fighting this season. I think new ownership has lit a fire under their butts.
If the astros can rebuild by drafting and signing good pitching then they will be back in the playoffs in no time. something just feels different about the new ownership.

There isn't anything the Astros can do to improve from within this year. Moving people up and down will only find them with the same results.

They are going to win 6 or 7 out of ten from time to time and they are going to lose 7 or 8 out of ten from time to time.

75-80 wins would be fantastic with this bunch. At least they are fun to watch and give some hope for the future.

We really need for all the guys from AA down to really grow and improve this year. Moving Wandy/Myers/Lee for anything this year is very important. Also we really need to hit a Homerun with the #1 pick and get him signed this year.

If Luhnow can work his magic moving Wandy, Brett Myers, and dare I say J.A. Happ if he continues improving... and add 3-6 legit prospects to the mix.

Jarred Cosart - he may fall off, if he stays on, it will be in the bottom 20. His stuff is still electric, results have been shaky, still a lot of season left.

Mike Foltynewicz, he was a top 100 guy, did not produce. He's a cold weather arm that has done exactly like most people have expected and developed late. He's been solid in A ball this year at age 20. If he continues to perform, he could crack the top 100 again.





Once again, the 3 up top are sure fire top 100 guys... and I expect one of those pitchers to be on there. That's 4 - 5 top 100 guys. I don't see how this organization can't be in the top 10 after this draft and trade deadline.

I like that lineup except for two things:

1. Chris Johnson is swinging the bat pretty dang good right now and it's hard to see Jimmy P. bumping him out of the lineup.

2. I'm not a big fan of Bougie. Guy plays solid D with a cannon arm but I'd like to see a veteran take his spot. Not a big money, long term veteran but a nice solid free agent veteran to plug into the lineup that gives us some experience and leadership.

Other than that I think that is a nice lineup and think that team would compete and be a blast to watch.

MAn what does everyone have against Bogey? He hasn't been the most consistent but who has other than Lowrie and Altuve? The guy brings good D, decent hitting, and good plate discipline. His powers numbers are bound to improve and Im betting they will.
