No. Bud Norris once again made his team face a huge uphill battle for the third straight start

Yeah, Dave Clark has to be the worst 3rd base coach in the game right now. Conservative when they need to be aggressive or vice versa. I understand if Castro wouldn't have stumbled he probably would have been safe, but you got to like your chances with at least getting 1 run if not two with Altuve and Lowrie coming up the dish.

Fernando rodriguez batted third.. You know the spot that came up with the bases loaded and had runners on base almost every time..

We lost because we stranded thirteen base runners to the Cardinals two. It was yet another game that we piled up singles but couldn't score runs.

Please God let Singleton, Springer, and Correa be able to hit 25+ Homeruns a season.

It looks like this is going to the the second straight year without a 20 homer guy. That is horrific playing 81 games with the Crawford Boxes in left.

No kidding. This team has no power at all.

You know what I meant. F mart is not a there home hitter. Having him there cost us multiple opportunities.

Wallace hasn't looked bad..
Hubert J. Farnsworth
How long do you want to ignore this user?
No he hasn't. Like someone said earlier on this thread. Maybe he figured something out in the minors.

I thinking dropping 30 pounds has helped, too.

That was so bad they had to send Bogey in to pitch the 9th.

I like Wallace. I think he has the potential to be a good player. He just needs to develop some power.

Altuve and Lowrie should be All-Stars

The Lowrie trade might be the best in baseball this past offseason.

If either Altuve or Lowrie are not All-Stars this year, it will be a great injustice. We all know Altuve has been impressive, but it is arguable that Lowrie has been the best SS in all of baseball this year.

Amongst Shortstops, Lowrie is tied for the ML lead in HR. He leads the NL.
He leads the ML in OPS by 50 pts.
He leads the ML in SLG by 50 pts.
He is 1st in OBP in the NL. 3rd in ML.
He is 4th in the NL in Batting Average
He is 4th in RBI's in the NL.
He is 5th in Feilding in the NL.

Another interesting stat...9 of Lowrie's 11 home runs have come with 2 strikes and none have come in a favorable count.

3-2: 4
2-2: 2
1-2: 2
0-2: 1
1-1: 1
0-1: 1

Jed Lowrie has 2.6 WAR according to fangraphs...

Next highest in the NL is Rafael Furcal who is at 2.1.

For some reason I was thinking about what the roster would look like next year (of course without potential trade acquires) for all of our clubs..

Pitching is so hard to pick with everyone in our system on 1 year contracts. We will probably purchase some cheap free agents again and move a bunch of guys around. Im not going to try except for starters..

Im putting them under their current positions and showing what level they are at now.

Astros
SP: Norris (MLB)
SP: Happ (MLB)
SP: Lyles (MLB)
SP: Harrell (MLB)
SP: Weiland (MLB)

I don't think we see much change unless Clemens or Cosart start going on a tear.

1B: Singleton (AA), Wallace (MLB)
2B: Altuve (MLB)
SS: Lowrie (MLB)
3B: Johnson (MLB), Paredes (AAA)
C: Castro (MLB), Snyder (MLB, no better option)
LF: J Martinez (MLB), Barnes (AAA, finally gets his shot)
CF: Schafer (MLB), Maxwell (MLB)
RF: Bogusevic (MLB), F Martinez (MLB,AAA)

DH candidates: Wallace, Johnson, Paredes, J Martinez, Maxwell, Barnes

Obviously one of the OF will be in AAA or cut.

AAA OKC
SP: Clemens (AAA)
SP: Cosart (AA)
SP: Keuchel (AAA)
SP: Bass (AAA)
SP: Musick (AAA)

1B: Hinze (AA)
2B: Wikoff (AA)
SS: Jose Martinez (AA), Villar (AA)
3B: Moore (AAA), Simunic (AAA)
C : Powell (AAA), McCurdy (AA)
LF: Goebbert (AA)
CF: Shuck (AAA), Wates (AA)
RF: Bailey (AA), Snyder (AAA)

The only ones with a chance for call ups or to get their shot are Wikoff, Martinez, Villar, Goebbert, Wates, Bailey.. I think Shuck will get his second chance later this year and peformance will make him a career minor leaguer with the speed to be a fill in occasionally.

AA Corpus:
SP: Oberholtzer (AA)
SP: Seaton (AA)
SP: Folty (MID A)
SP: Tropeano (MID A)
SP: Cisnero (AA)
I think Buchanon gets moved to the pen and comes to MLB as a reliever.

1B: E Castro (HIGH A)
2B: Kreke (AA), Orloff (HIGH A)
SS: Mier (HIGH A), Todd (HIGH A)
3B: Meyer (HIGH A), Duffy (MID A)
C : Wallace (AA), Heath (HIGH A)
LF: E. Hernandez (HIGH A)
CF: Springer (HIGH A), Hogue (HIGH A)
RF: Epps (HIGH A)

Players who have any sort of chance of chance to be called up in 2013 are Springer and Epps.

I left Santana in Lancaster because I think they will want him to show maturity and consistency before playing with guys 2-3 years older than him who are almost ready for MLB.

A Lancaster
No idea whether the pitchers will be guys already at this level, from Lexington, or draftees. Not even going to try. Almost positive Bobby Doran will start here and move to Corpus mid season.

1B: Nash (HIGH A)
2B: Delino Deshields (MID A), Hinson (MID A)
SS: Fontana (DRAFT), Moon (MID A)
3B: Z. Johnson (MID A)
C : Garcia (HIGH A), Kvasnicka (MID A)
LF: Muren (MID A)
CF: Meredith (MID A), Scott (MID A)
RF: Santana (HIGH A)

Nash could move up if he shows any sort of plate discipline. Deshields, Fontana, and Kvasnicka could all move up quickly if performance allows it. Correa will start in Lexington with a chance to end the season here. Santana could be a mid season call up to corpus.

Im not going to bother with the rest. Its a total crap shoot.

Today's lineup blows.

Altuve
Bixler
Lowrie
Martinez
Maxwell
Wallace
Snyder
Downs
Bogusevic

Wow. 4 of those guys have no business starting EVER.

You know why Lyles will never succeed?

The stupid little ****er doesnt understand anything to do with keeping the ball down. Bases loaded.. lets just keep putting it belt high.
mazag08

Here is your 4 run inning..

1. Downs makes a great snag at third, has plenty of time, and bounces a throw that Wallace cant handle. 1 terrible hitter on base.

2. Grounder up the middle. Altuve makes amazing grab and throws to first with no chance of getting the guy. Wallace still cant handle it. Two terrible hitters on base.

3. Cant remember. Walk or base hit.

4. De Aza batting. Base hit 1 run scores.

5. Gordon freaking Beckham batting. Lyles gives him a gorgeous meatball. Beckham says thank you for helping me out of my slump. Another terrible hitter reaches base. 3 runs in.

6. Adam Dunn hits fly ball. Bogusevics apparent magical arm goes 0-2 while never having a chance this inning.

And we are getting shut out by a guy that Ed Wade decided was not as good as Delino Deshields.

Great... Jordan Lyles... This guy has no command yet his ball stays in the strike zone. That'a bad combo.

Repeat to yourself, he's only 21, he's only 21, he's only 21, he's... he sucks.

This is not a good White Sox team. It'a a group of hitters who aren't worth a damn unless a pitcher makes bad mistakes.

The only guys on this team who are worth their weight are Konerko, Pierzysnki, and maybe Alex Rios.

ALL of the others are srubs who need a tear against terrible pitching to be considered average. Lucky for them, they have faced a lot of terrible pitching this year and their own has been better than predicted. I doubt they last. They are not a good team and are not a playoff team.

Astros get D'Andre Toney to complete Q and Jason B trade with KC. Solid pick up.

He's the player to be named later in the March trade that landed Jason Bourgeois and Humberto Quintero in Kansas City. Toney, 20, batted .340/.432/.587 with five homers and seven steals over 176 plate appearances last season in Rookie ball.

Not bad
