I have no idea why we are screwing Brett Wallace. The dude lost 30 pounds so he could have a chance to take the 1st base job. Now that the worthless Carlos Lee roadblock is gone, they move CJ to 1st? I don't understand that and I don't like it. Wallace has been playing very well in OKC and he played very well up here in Houston while he was here.

The Wallace thing amazes me...guy hit well when he was up here last time, why the hell are we screwing him over?
Hopefully they ate just waiting until after the break to bring up Wallace. I've heard they want to carry more pitchers until then. If he's not up playing 1st everyday after the Allstar game then I'll be irritated about it.
Could possibly move CJ to first and Wallace to third.
Thought I read somewhere they had Wallace playing third at OKC some.

I feel sorry for JD and Brownie. They have to watch this ****ty baseball day in and day out and keep up their optimism during the broadcasts. I would love to be a fly on the wall when they aren't on the air.

Why the **** would they fire Mills? Look what they gave him to work with for the past few years. Let's at LEAST give him a few years with some real talent. I love him, but when Altuve is your best player, you've got a real talent issue.

I think Mills gets one more full season to get the Astros within 10 games of .500. That's not great, but it would be a huge improvement. I'm not his biggest fan, but let's not forget that he's dealing with very little talent at pretty much every position--particularly on the mound.

Here is what my base lineup for the rest of the season would be..
1. Altuve - 2B
2. Lowrie - SS
3. Wallace - 1B
4. Martinez - LF
5. Johnson -3B
6. Moore - RF
7. Castro - C
8. Schafer - CF
9. Pitcher
My bench would be Bogusevic, Barnes, Marwin, Bixler, Snyder.
I would either demote or cut Downs. I would send Dominguez to AAA to finish the season.
Barnes would get starts in CF and RF based on the pitcher. Bogusevic would only be a defensive sub and pinch hitter the rest of the season. He's had his chance to prove himself. I think he could be valuable as a PH though. Snyder would be on my watch list for cuts with Landon Powell on my ready to call up list. At this point I leave Fernando Martinez in AAA until September call ups. I would also switch Wallace and Johnson at 3rd/1st base every three games to see what they can both do.

I never thought he was going to be a great player. But he has shown flashes. Now that we are over the halfway mark of the season, flashes mean nothing.. especially when you are 28. I think he is still a major league guy.. but not a starter. He is a plus defender, plus arm, and has some power in his bat. He could help us and multiple teams off the bench.

I'm not saying schafer is all that great but Maxwell is a waste of time, he is 28 and absolutely terrible on defense. He reminds me of Eric Anthony, he just swings for a hr on every swing no matter the situation.
