Why did Mills yank Lyles out at only 85 pitches? He could have gone another inning.
One thing I like that Nolan did when he took over the Rangers was have the coaches work the starting pitchers, getting them to last longer into the games. The 100 pitch mark was no longer the absolute time to take pitchers out of the game if they were still pitching well. Today, the Rangers get quite a few 7+ inning games out of their pitchers.
Mills doesn't push the starters. He takes them out too soon, most of the time, not allowing them to battle through it. With the absolutely s***ty bullpen the Astros have, I would get everything I could out of the starters. The Astros starters don't get past 6 innings too often, which is pretty crappy. Of course they usually don't get past 6 because Mills doesn't have the balls to leave them in there.
I'm sick of Mills though. I hope Crane and Lunhow can find a new manager for next season.

Despite flirting with .500 early on in the season, we all knew this kind of stretch was coming, right? I'd be lying if I said I didn't get my hopes up, but deep down I knew we'd be headed to the cellar by the All Star break.

Correa still hasn't made much of any contact with the ball. With all the expectations, nerves, and every pitcher wanting to make a name by getting you out, it's gotta be hard. I'm guessing he will have a big night soon and then be consistent the rest of the season.
