Good job guys. Next time, let's monitor events from a SCIF that's a little more secure than some black curtains, and not let the world know we're putting X on a big screen and searching "Venezuela" to see it play out live. We're better than that.

Getting this worked up and not having any clue what you are even talking about is quite the move. Calling out incompetence while displaying it in spades is pretty awesome.

You and I have very, very different definitions of "worked up."
But I'll go ahead and add, you know what we typically don't see in the background when an administration publishes pictures inside a war room? A tv screen. It's not a huge deal, but let's button this up for next time please.

If someone seized Trump and took him outside the country would you think it's a war? You don't have to answer that.

Trump is the dually elected leader of his country. Maduro was not. He is a narco terrorist that ignored an election and took over a country by force, against the will of its citizens.

Your hypothetical a false equivalancy and you know it.

Attacking a country and seizing their head of state is an act of war. Period. This is war.

What authority is Trump claiming for this action? The Something Powers Act?

Love the historic references. I'll add another

And God said "He would humble the powerful and lift up the weak." The Bible in both the old and new Testaments.

With power come the responsibility to use it as the Lord would approve. In my humble opinion taking down an oppressive a narco state that has impoverished 85% of its population would meet that criteria as long as we play fairly and justly, creating real allies then leaving VZ to its people.

Chinese, Russian, Cuban, interference and collaboration impoverishing and destroying that nation is a violation of the Monroe Doctrine.

Besides the courts will side with Trump as they did with Bush 1 VS Panama. The case law is already there.

He's not the head of state so there's that.

He was already under indictment with both Trump and Biden and since he's not the legal head of state it was game on.

Pizza orders near Pentagon 'suddenly surged in traffic' during Venezuela attack and it might be connected to bizarre theory…

…Pizzato Pizza in Arlington, Virginia, "suddenly surged in traffic" at 2 a.m. Friday, according to Pentagon Pizza Report, an online account that tracks a pizza spot supposedly favored by federal agents...

…That would be 3 a.m. in Caracas, one hour after the US rained down airstrikes on the capital city that lasted less than 30 minutes...

…The Pentagon Pizza theory follows pizza orders surrounding the Pentagon, speculating that an increase in late nights orders for federal agents corresponds with major historical events.

https://nypost.com/2026/01/03/world-news/pizza-orders-near-pentagon-surge-amid-venezuela-attack-tracker/

If there is any truth to this we need to clamp down on this.

No *****

That was one of the first things you learn when you get a clearance. Don't suddenly do things completely differently, especially en masse.

This has been going on for a while. I'm actually surprised people are just now finding out about it.

I'd heard about it awhile back.

I figured they would have fixed that by now.

But, we have been pretty lax in enforcement through numerous administrations of both parties, so, I'm not surprised...

Bless your heart.

The "war" has ended.

Could be the record for the shortest "war" on record. Hell, even the 6 day war was days longer.

The shortest war in history was the Anglo-Zanzibar War, fought on August 27, 1896, between the United Kingdom and the Sultanate of Zanzibar, lasting only about 38 to 45 minutes. The conflict erupted after the pro-British Sultan died and his nephew, Khalid bin Barghash, seized the palace, defying a British ultimatum to step down, leading to a swift bombardment of the palace by British warships.

Damn, so close to the record.
Among the latter, under pretence of governing they have divided their nations into two classes, wolves and sheep.”

Is there a distinction between act of war and a war? I think I agree with the former but not the latter. If this is a war, what would constitute its end?

Well...interesting tidbit for me.

Just found out all flights into and out of SXM (Sint Maarten) have been cancelled. Can't find any new flights until Tuesday (but for $3500 one way on AA).

So, now we're stuck here (I know, awwwwwww). Gotta figure out if we can extend our stay at this condo or get another one.

I'm going to guess this is related to this action in VZ...

An update on my terrible plight.

Due to the festivities in VZ, we couldn't get a flight out of SXM until Friday 1/9.

But, we managed to find food and shelter (and a lot of rum punch).

So, we're now trapped in Sint Maarten for 6 days.

Pray for us.

Okay. I see your point and see that a case can be made for it in the pure sense of the word. I do think "military action" or skirmish is more accurate. I guess we can call the Civil War and WW2 the Semi finals of the "Big Boy" wars.
