Just returned from ground zero MN. Was there for a work trip and my stupid/adventurous side said hey, let's go see where all this **** is going down. What could go wrong?
Report. Zero MN police presence anywhere in or around the area where the protest was happening (hawthorne) Protest was much smaller than I had imagined. I went during daylight. Roads were blocked off probably to avoid rubberneckers like me. I'd guess about 20 people, a couple decked out in tacticool gear, some flags, and a bunch of cameras. 100% white folks, most looked like city bus sleepers but hey maybe that's the style up here. I didn't get close enough to hear what they were yelling but I'm sure you could guess it wasn't "good job" heavy presence of law enforcement around what I assume was a hq. No marked police vehicles. Might be coincidence, but I noticed lots of out of state plates parked on the roads adjacent to where this was going down.
Then I had to go to work, talked about it with some of the guys up there and the general consensus was that this was a blight for the city and humiliating personally for them. I felt bad for prodding them on something that obviously struck a hard chord so I dropped it.
My cool story bro for my Texags friends is complete.
TLDR - protests way overstated in social media, o&g people / good country people exist up there and vote red (unsuccessfully)
We just finished a trade show for the RR in FL, our booth was 2 booths away from the exhibit company who was advertising for the next show which is located in MSP in April. The sales lady said the numbers of attendees and exhibitors is way down as in covid numbers down. She tried to give a discount to the company next to us and they told her, they wouldn't go if they were paid to.
I used to do a ton of biz up there and traveled regularly there until 2008. Went back in 2019 and was shocked how much the place turned into a ****hole. We should pay the canadians to take it.
