If that is the case, I'd assume then that Nacho is essentially a down payment for a Jan/July deal for a player worth more than Nacho. Same concept but delayed return. Looking at their roster, outside of prospects, I could see us being interested in Oyarzabal or Mikel Merino which would both cost more than Nacho.

Holding and ESR have both played complete games this week for the reserve teams and are back in full training. Bellerin, Tierney and Mavro are all due back in full training in September now instead of October which is great news.
Also read a tidbit yesterday that Freddie Ljungberg has his sights set on becoming the Arsenal manager in the future. Will be following his manager career with interest.

Hate being without cover until players come back from injuries but the reality is that we need to be offloading some of the these vets and making room for younger options. Like Nacho but at 33 he is just about done. Doesn't have the speed to keep up with EPL wings and doesn't have the bulk to move inside.
In an ideal world, I'd like to see us make a few more moves to offload some vets.
- Add Upamecano or some other young athletic CB in Jan and sell Sokratis by next summer. He has been solid for us but his tackles can be a bit harsh. With VAR he is a card/penalty waiting to happen. A CB rotation of Upamecano, Saliba, Holding, Chamber & Luiz would be really good for next year.
- Sell Miki in Jan either turn over the wing to the youngsters or maybe find a vet wing not yet on his decline that can step in but not totally block Nelson/Saka. If you add a LW in his spot, Make PEA/Laca a #9 rotation rather than playing PEA out of position on the wing.
- Along with Miki... Sell one of Laca/PEA next summer, make the other the starting #9 and give Nketiah the full backup #9.
- Sell Ozil if at all possible

Agree with most of what you said other than putting PEA as the number 9. His touch is too heavy and he is absolutely useless with his back to goal. Outside of running channels (with no one to aim at in the middle) he makes a poor 9 in my book. At least against a top 6 side.
With no Monreal i think we have to go with a back 5. What i'd like to see.

Ceballos needs a few more games under his belt to gain consistency in my book. He has had one great game and one eh game. I'd rather torreia and guendozi shutting down the middle defensively and rely on the 3 attackers up top to create chances and possession.

That was Ceballos big issue at Madrid as well. He wasn't consistent. I agree that he needs to show more consistency, but he can't do it from the bench. Definitely curious to see what Emery puts out

Midfield is very stable. Front 3 need to come/drop-in and collect. Press their deep lying midfielders to even the numbers. Can bring on Ozil or Ceballos to add more creativity, kinda like what we did with Ramsey last year
Totally agreed. I am excited about Torreira being in there. He is the perfect fit for this situation, just seek and destroy.
He absolutely has to be starting when he is fit.
