The annoying bit about Lacazette is he's scored fewer goals each season. Part of this comes down to playing time and the team around him, to be fair:

2017/2018: 0.44 goals per match.
2018/2019: 0.37 goals per match.
2019/2020: 0.36 goals per match.

Last 6 games: 0.00 goals per match.

This season has been super disappointing for everyone, but Laca has been so off it's shocking. Last season with Emery constantly tinkering with the lineup it was really hard to judge. What I do remember is last season things worked great for Laca when Emery actually started him and Auba together. The partnership just worked for both guys, but most especially Laca. However, for a guy that is a striker and was so in demand at the time we bought him, he should be scoring more no matter if he's playing with Auba or not.

Looks like 32 Goals in EPL play with only 5 this season.

Just a stop-gap to fill in until Saliba gets here and gets up to speed. Assuming Mustafi is gone in January and Chambers now out for about 9 months, we are pretty light at CB and need bodies. More of a Lichtsteiner-type signing than a plan for the future.

Agree. Do a Saliba type deal for Upamecano and then loan ( Rugani, Demiral) or cheaply purchase (Boateng) a CB that gets us through the rest of the year. Then next year you run with Holding, Chambers, Upamecano, Saliba and one of Luiz/Sokratis/Movrapanos/Boateng/Academy guy.

Very Strong 11 for this match. I thought this might just be team chalked full of Academy players based on our injuries and all the games played. As Gunnerblog tweeted, Arteta probably just looking to build momentum.

Ref has been awful. Auba deserved that red, but not giving away cards early set the tone. Then the ref has given a card fest against arsenal.

Caught the end. Ref looked incompetent there were two studs up challenges on the same play one yellow one nothing. Did not see the Abu red but either of those could have been.

FWIW, the referee only gave Aubameyang a yellow and VAR came in and required the red.

I think the referee clearly wanted to let them get after it today. Towards the end he had to clamp down as it was getting reaaaallly chippy.

Lots of smoke around Brazilian Holding MF Bruno Guimaraes. We have been linked to him since Edu arrived but for the last 2-3 months his name pops up every couple of weeks. Number of reports that we are trying to finalize a deal before Benfica beat us to him.

I realize it is just wishful thinking. I just want someone new to buy the club. I'm ok being a club that develops players. Don't care about spending like ManU, City, etc... but I want someone who genuinely wants to be competitive and is atleast willing to spend a bit each summer when something needed vs the current situation where we are nickle & diming everything.

Seeing links today with PSG LB Layvin Kurzawa. He recently signed with Joorabchian and is out of contract this summer. The rumors are stating that we are working on a pre-contract deal with the possibility of throwing a little cash at PSG to get him on the roster in Jan.
