The only from the "Sell" group that I would keep if we were retooling rather than rebuilding would be Leno & maybe Laca. PAE is gonna want to leave for CL and at his age we should cash out. The others have all shown to have too many flaws to justify being on the roster and would represent a good chunk of wages that would help in getting good young players.

I agree. There's a lot of young talent in the Bundesliga I would go after, like Haaland, Havertz, and Brandt.

Agree though, there are some nice young guys in Germany. Several others we have been rumored to be watching. Also wouldn't mind us continuing to snag some Brazilians with Euro passports like Gabby.

Would like to see us add 1 young athletic CB (Upamecano) in Jan. Think we can make a run with a rotation of Holding, Chambers, New guy and Sokratis for the rest of the year. After that I would look for a strong CM to pair with Torreira and a more consistent LW (assuming Martinelli doesn't take the job). Then in the summer we can sort out the rest.
Not sure what he would cost but I wouldn't mind seeing us go after Jack Grealish as a HG LW/AM. He seems to be maturing into a good playmaker.

I wouldn't make Grealish a priority but he is someone I would look at in the summer assuming we are cleaning house. He would make a nice HG option at LW/AM without hurting Martinelli's development.Strangely Attractive said:

Priority for Jan and this summer if not complete is to add a quality CB that can properly defend and rebuild the base of the MF.
Seeing a report this afternoon (I assume it is an opinion piece) that PAE wants to sign an extension but won't do so unless he A) likes the new manager and B) gets some assurances from the club that they will strengthening the squad to get back into CL.

Lots of Ancelotti smoke this morning. Not real excited about that proposition. He has a good win percentage everywhere he has been the last 10 years with the exception of Napoli. Main issue that I have is...

Yeah Ancelotti seems like a mistake because I don't see him as a real builder of a team/club. We are in a re-build mode with this current squad. Lots of pieces that don't quite fit together and it won't be fixed over one summer. We need a mgr and new Front office guys that have an actual plan/vision for the future and truly how to build us back.chjoak said:
