Am not going to say City put forth their best effort, but Arsenal had a lot to do with that. Do want to recognize that to keep a clean sheet against them is especially noteworthy, and a job well done. To top it off, Auba should have honestly had a hat trick.

Arteta has been open about wanting him to join the staff. Just read that he signed a contract as a player/coach for a team in Qatar. He likely will return to Arsenal but it won't be this year.

Situation as it stands. To get EL, Arsenal need to win both matches against Aston Villa (18th) and Watford (17th).

We also need one of the following to happen:

1) Wolves lose to Chelsea and we make up the +5 GD.
2) Palace beat spurs and we make up the +6 GD.

We need to really smash some goals in our next two matches.

Chelsea has Pool coming up next. Our best (non-cup) scenario right now is...

- Pool beats Chelsea
- Chelsea goes into Wolves needing a win to secure CL and subsequently beat Wolves by 2+
- Arsenal win each of their last 2 games by 2+

That would put us tied with Wolves for 7th with us taking the tie breaker with +1-2 GD.

The scenarios regarding 7th place essentially already built in the possibility of Chelsea winning.

England gets 3 spots; 5th place, the FA Cup winner, and the League Cup winner.

City won the League Cup awhile ago, but will go to Champions League. That allows 6th place a spot in Europa League. If FA Cup winner was previously qualified for Europe, then 7th place gets a Europa League spot.
