I definitely think Lawnmower guy is involved but I can't see it ending with him either. It's clear the conspiracy involves Tuttle somehow, just not sure to what extent and capacity.

Regarding the FIL, he delivers a very sanctimonious speech to Marty about the good ole' days when everyone was faithful and families and God came first, etc. etc. Given the direction this show has taken regarding religion and Tuttle, that speech is an alarm bell.

Or it's just a old man stuck in his ways. Doesn't mean it kills kids and woman.

One thing that amazed me is when Marty and Rust were having their first blow up after the "type this up" scene that Rust didn't gently remind him that if it weren't for Rust Marty would still be in jail for murdering Ledoux. Of course Marty is one of the most selfish men alive and is incapable of seeing how anyone has a purpose in life other than to do things for him.

Cohle tells him without me there is no you, meaning without Cohle's quick reaction to covering up what Marty did to ledoux, Marty wouldn't have been promoted, reconciled with his wife, and yes he would be in jail.

I thought it meant that Rust has been doing all the work for them. He gets the confession/solves the case, Marty types it up and gets credit still. He even says this during that altercation.

I don't see why people are throwing around such complex reasons why Rust changed his mind about who buys the beer. He saw the car and decided he could afford it. That was it.

Can anyone sum up what Tuttle told Rust? I think that scene is worth rewatching.

I'll go with this until we see otherwise. Why else would Rust offer to buy the beer, look at the car, and then say Marty could buy it?

I also think the computer shows something about Marty's kids. We only see the first second or two of his reaction.

What I got from the Rust-Tuttle scene was Tuttle lied to Rust about the reason the deacon (Farrar?) was let go in '92. Said it was because he was embezzling, but the ex-revival preacher had previously told Rust that Farrar was "interfering" with kids.

Seriously these last two pages have been excruciating to read. Cohle has shown he can be witty/sarcastic/somewhat-funny, he walks off, looks back at Marty's car, leans back down, looks over it AGAIN, and says, "how about you buy me a beer" cause he's DRIVING A NICE CAR and Cohle is driving a POS with the taillight still broken. JEEEEZ. Another example of him being witty, sarcastic, jack-arse is when he quits and leaves the office and says "Nice hook Marty" I laughed at that. It was perfect.

Rust is poor now, hence why a beer needs to be bought for him.

Marty has climbed the ladder based on the case the Rust primarily solved.

Half of you are like "it's a reference to the Cold War and Socialism"

With Marty's daughters, I feel it just shows that as things outside of home are wild and out of control, so are things in his home. And it's also a direct reaction to his infidelity.

I could not disagree with this opinion more. You don't show his daughter creating a gangbang scene with her toys (a scene reproduced by Cohle with his tin men), drawing extremely explicit images including one with a dude in a mask, a drawing of the spiral in her room, and the deviancy that she falls into without it specifically relating to the main story.

I still say it's impossible to drive around for 8 years or whatever with a broken tail light and stay "off the grid". That may or may not be relevant, it's just an observation and it leads me to wonder why, how and where he was during that time.

I thought it was weird that after 10 years he still hasn't fixed the tail light. Quite frankly I don't give a sheet! If it is a clue it's not likely to be very important at all other than he maybe going off the grid to keep the cops off his tail to work the case himself.

The beer situation - very exhausting discussion.

The fact of the matter is that there are only 2 more episodes and we're gonna be introduced to a number of new characters. There's ALOT left for only 2 episodes which makes it seem somewhat disappointing...almost like they may rush to the end.

IMO this last episode was just ok. All it did for me is answer what we already thought went on. Rust slept w/ Marty's wife, the task force was thrown in for a reason (cover up), Rust went off the grid to work the case himself...yeah yeah yeah, we already knew that. This episode just filled the gap to the real players/stories.

What's left? Who is the Yellow King? What are the real details of the cover up? What happened to Marty's daughter? & then more development of Rust's evidence gathering.

Maybe it's implying he truly was off the grid and never used his car. That way he would be tougher to find.

I agree with everything you said above except the numerous new characters. I think (and am hoping) that there will only be one or two new "important" characters. Adding too many characters in the last two episodes would be very cheap IMO

The character's I was referring to are the one's in the previews. They may not be MAJOR players but they haven't been shown up to this point and it seems like they know A LOT about what's going on.

Lets reserve judgment until the last 2 episodes air. The writing has been superb up until this point, I don't have any reason to doubt this wont continue.

I've never watched that show. Is this guy tall? I couldn't tell from him sitting on the lawnmower. The rival tent girl said it was a tall man with a shiny face talking to Dora.

George Remus doesn't speak to the FBI. George Remus has done nothing wrong.

The still broken tail light to me just suggests that Cohle is a focused individual-it's not on his radar. He's been completely consumed by this case and nothing else really matters to him.

I read the first story of the "yellow king".

Rust is so focused on this case that it will lead to his downfall. Similar to anyone reading the book will be driven insane and die.

I think you need to take a break from the internet, buddy.
Clearly it is a troubled girl with MAJOR daddy issues. How does any kid get exposed to the erotic? Who knows, it happens over time. Doesn't mean she's part of some gang bang cult lead by her grandpa. She also is not a very good artist...she's a kid. So to say that character is wearing a mask is just ridiculous. Did you notice the proportions to the man's hands, feet and *****? No way that is an accurate drawing.
emando2000
How long do you want to ignore this user?

I'm sorta with you regarding the mask being a stretch but not the rest of it. Yes there are major daddy issues but the drawings were way too graphic for such a young child. The 2 girls being polar opposites is weird too. We'll find out in the next 2 weeks.
