Re-watching now. When interviewing the pastor at the church, MM walks inside and checks out the cross. The pastor is explaining the "devil catchers" or whatever they were called by saying the kids were "tying two sticks together" then the cross is shown again and it's bound together with twine.
Could it be a clue to who ever made the crime scene devil catcher or a too obvious clue to throw us off? Could also be tied to the rabbits I suppose.

The implication is that the Christians are just tying sticks together to keep the devil away, too. Perhaps especially so from MM's character's POV.

I have some friends predicting that MM is the killer. I don't think so. I think it has to do with the preacher, governor's family. Some sort of state wide cover up.
I've read the writer's novel "Galveston" let's just say I don't expect this to have a happy ending.
I really like the setting of this story. South LA is a very unique place once we get into the sticks. Great side characters like the ex husband who's in jail.
How come every show on HBO that is set in Louisiana starts with the word "True"? True Blood... True Detective...

MM is definitely not the original killer, but it wouldn't surprise me if he is the new one. Maybe a little too predictable though.
Well, true blood is based off of a series of books and named after the beverage vampires drink in said books. Plus it sounds better that the sookie stackhouse chronicles.

I have been pumped about this show since the first trailer. Probably the most anticipated thing I've ever seen. More so than Lost and the second Batman movie.

This pilot was great. I haven't watched a crime drama since The Wire and I have really been wanting something new to watch. What time will the next episode come on HBO Go? Will it be up tonight?

I'm starting to get the feeling of Cohle as a character. His perspective on life, his daughter and is narco days.
Hillbilly bunny ranch gave me the creeps. Like most of the side characters on this show. I'm enjoying it, and still predict the slick preacher on E1 is behind the murders.

What a fabulous rack that was. That along with MM's diss of Lubbock and an appearance by Pinkman's mom made for a great episode. But mostly cause of that rack.
