There is a wide cast of potential characters who could try something like this. I have multiple friends who live at the foothills of Runyon Canyon in WeHo, they're all evacuating and said you could sit there and just watch the flames crawling down the canyon.
Just watched an interview with the homeowner in Studio City. Said they heard loud pops like gunshots. Sounds like maybe a transformer blew?

This is pretty incredible. Aside from the personal impact on people and families, the financial implications are hard to wrap your head around. Complete loss of homes, businesses, commercial properties, etc. Especially because this is such high value real estate. Have to be some insurance companies pretty worried about their exposure. I don't know if you could adequately underwrite to such widespread destruction.
Pretty heartbreaking watching some of the personal stories.
