Reminds me of a girl I met in Australia who got her Masters degree in some sort of Climate Change related field. Then, she couldn't find a job. Ultimately she found a job with an NGO, or in academia somewhere, I can't remember.

The woman posting this video's livelihood is dependent on keeping the hoax going. Just like the race grifters - Al Sharpton, Ben Crump, etc.

And I love the fact that she said she left her home just as the looters were showing up but, let's overlook that for now. Classic Kalifornia.
I remember sitting in a seminar session in Halbouty 101 around 1990 with the new dean of the college of geosciences telling all of us that the hot new thing was climate change research. She explicitly told us that if we wanted to get our research funded that we needed to find a way to tie it to climate change. That gravy train that was starting then has only gotten larger in the last 3 and a half decades (God that hurts to write that). When people's entire livelihood is tied to funding based on the belief that climate change is an existential challenge for mankind, they will do whatever they have to do to make sure that climate change continues to be portrayed as an existential threat.

That's when I was living in Alaska and was concerned (as any 5 y/o could be) about the next ice age.
I will say I wasn't as on to it as I should have been at the time. I remember thinking it was odd to have a dean encouraging funding to have a political angle, but I wasn't knowledgeable enough at the time to realize what a scam it all was. I even (to my great shame) wrote a book review for extra credit in Dr. Kaiser's conservation of natural resources class that praised Al Gore's vision in Earth in the Balance. To me, my own naivety about some things back then is something I keep in mind when I see the passionately wild-eyed college kids of today out there protesting about things they clearly are ill-informed about and don't understand at all.
Don't feel bad for missing warning signs.

Early 2000 during what would become the final days of the dot.com era, I was flying out of San Francisco and two guys in their early 20s were in line behind me going through security.

They were talking about the new idea they were pitching to rate stocks based on how green they were, diversity initiatives, charitable contributions, etc.

I thought those guys were insane.

But... a decade later, companies were doing exactly that. I wish there was a way I could have profited off that insider info.

With respect to the re-zoning.

In my neighborhood, it would take years to get a permit for an additional dwelling unit (ADU) so there were tons of non-permitted ADUs in the San Fernando Valley.

But, in 2019, California came over the top of local communities and decreed that anybody could build an ADU.

They're definitely pushing for more density wherever they can get it.

Every single buyer who looked at purchasing my 1250 sq. ft. house, the first thing they did was measure up the backyard and the garage to figure out how they were going to build an ADU.

So this R1-R3 rezoning conspiracy, I believe it.

My guess is the feckless Mayor Bass will be the fall person. She lost a kinda close election, Newsom needs a big scalp to save his Presidential ambitions, the fire department is going to 100% blame the Mayor and DWP bosses and DWP reports to the Mayor. So my money is there.

The majority of water is used to grow almonds. 1 gallon per nut.

Thr vast majority of those nuts are exported. Can solve the water crisis by regulating the tonnage of nuts exported and cull those farms.

They're a pretty famous agency in LA for their employees always getting in trouble for either screwing around on the job, or logging overtime that they never worked. When I used to listen to the Tim Conway Jr. Show on KFI AM 640, he frequently had stories about DWP workers doing the wrong thing.

RENR 375 was one of the easiest classes I ever took, why did you need extra credit?

Dr. Kaiser was awesome though, haven't talked with him since a couple of years after I graduated, but he was a great guy.

I'm honestly shocked California's Prop 65 is allowing them to drop that fire ******ant (Phos-Chek) all over the place. It's one thing to drop that stuff in a remote area, but in populated areas…. All those libs heads are going to explode when they find out that significant exposure is not great for health.

Lib logic- clearing brush and dead over growth and doing small controlled burns = bad, bad, very bad, we must protect the environment and the bunny rabbits!

Now lib logic- Screw the environment! Dump millions and millions of gallons of fire-******ant on that same environment, this could impact me now!!!
