Just looked up Nic's Wikipedia page. I didn't realize he wrote two episodes for season 1 of The Killing. Obviously TD is much better (season 1 of the killing was good until the last episode though), but there are some similarities between the two shows' darkness and styles.

There was nothing wrong with season 1 of the killing other than all the marketing behind the show was that we'd know the killer at the finale, when in fact Sud decided to basically troll all the viewers and end S1 with "well maybe not this time but y'all come back next year and find out!"

The Killing was good at times. It was terribly guilty of the exact lying to the audience TD has made it a point to disavow.

I live in Dallas and am pretty sure the Kroger and Albertson's by my house has Lone Star.

Yes, Law, I've had Lone Star. It's a great shotgun beer. And like was said earlier, this show is making me crave its cheap greatness. Had some at Twisted Root a few weeks ago. Buying a case tonight. Sorry I'm not snooty, as Cohle would say.

Just got my hands on Pizzolatto's original 10-page pitch treatment for not only his vision and structure of the series, but his breakdown of all eight episodes as well. Obviously not going to read it yet, but it's weird knowing the potential identity of the Yellow King is within my grasp (even though that's obviously not what the show's ultimately about). Will upload Sunday night for anyone who wants to read it...

Ha, my desire to be surprised and/or potentially blown away by the finale outweighs my desire to know right this second what happens. I can wait three more days...

I also have the very first draft of the pilot, along with the shooting scripts for both the pilot and episode two. Will post all four docs on Sunday if people want to read those as well.
