So i kept a timeline during one read through and found that only about 1 to 2 years passed from when those 5 country bumpkins left their small village until they were the 5 most powerful entities in that world.

I can't recall, we shouldn't be expecting Aviendha any time soon right?
Book three, I believe, when the girls are going south to Tear.bluefire579 said:Believe she doesn't come in until book 3 or 4Chipotlemonger said:

That is impressive I am not sure I could read all the way a second time. There are several books later in the series that were a huge slog to to get through. If I recall Winters Heart was just painful to read. I cannot say it was that book specifically, but I do recall there was one book that is best described as 1000 pages describing the most boring single day in the life of everyone involved. It might have been a path if daggers since I do recall at the end of winters heart the pace of the series seemed to pick up again but only in the last chapter or so.USAF Ag 99 said:
Just finished my second read-through of the series...14 books over 6 months. Very excited for the upcoming show. Next up I plan to read New Spring (prequel to the original series). I hope it is just as good!
You are correct.Claude! said:Book three, I believe, when the girls are going south to Tear.bluefire579 said:Believe she doesn't come in until book 3 or 4Chipotlemonger said:

Blue eyes and blond hair. Lets cast a red head.KidDoc said:
I know it is petty but I wish they were doing better with casting matching eye/skin/hair. Jordan mentions Elaine's blue eyes a million times.
She's described in the books as having red-gold hair, and just about every artist depiction out there accentuates the redAustinScubaAg said:Blue eyes and blond hair. Lets cast a red head.KidDoc said:

Lets be honest the casting does not match for most of the characters.

I imagine you're just getting that because the actor looks a bit similar to how Andre did. It's pretty straightforward medieval fare.Claude! said:
Perrin's costume is giving me vibes of Fezzik from Princess Bride. Not sure that's a good thing.

"We literally built Shadar Logoth from scratch just for 15 minutes of airtime, because it's that important to the series"

"I try to stick to the spine and the heart of the books, and bring that to the screen," Judkins says of his philosophy as showrunner. "If I can successfully do that, the story and the characters will sell themselves."

I don't know why, I just have a feeling this is not going to be good.
I can't point to anyone one thing that informs that opinion, maybe Im just trying to keep my expectations low so I will enjoy it if its just kinda mediocre.
Yea, it's exciting to just have the opportunity to see the story told like this.Micah97 said:
I'm taking the Lord of the Rings approach. Expect changes, but as long as they get the characters right and follow the general story, I'll be happy.
Sounds like you might be pulling your braid in concern.PatAg said:
