I'm actually getting ok with the Asian guy. I can picture him in that persona.

That group shot actually has me ok with all of them. I wasn't far off based on the original release but seeing them all together, I can see the casting idea. Make up and costumes and it'll be great. Again - if they're true to the story and the personalities, the actors will grow on us.

Probably. It used to be the daily trolloc, but he shut down after disagreeing with the casting choices. The trolls and idiots came at him for being a racist and he shut down his site. Inferring from reading between the lines, but seemed obvious when you read his farewell letter.

I follow the subreddit; anything from any of the fan sites pops up there pretty quickly.
17thShard is another good fansite. It's geared toward Brandon Sanderson, but it has a Wheel of Time board due to his involvement with the final books. Haven't checked to see if there's discussion about the TV show, however.
I go to coppermind wiki website when I get lost in Sanderson lore and mythology. It's hard to follow or remember, for example, the abilities of each class of knights radiant. So I often refer to coppermind to keep me straight.
Coppermind is great, too! Really helpful with a lot of Cosmere explanations, as well.
As for WoT, Dragonmount is probably the best resource I've found. The guy in charge, Jason Denzel, is really plugged in with the Jordan estate and might be the biggest WoT fan on earth.

Funny you mention that, on Dragonmount there seems to have been some arguing over casting choices that got some thread(s) locked.
As we saw, it's a touchy subject. I think most of us understand the concept of being upset that you aren't casting people that look how they are described in the book. They make a big deal about regions and cultures being distinct, and some are even plotpoints for characters.
Some people just take it way too far, and off that path with their tirades.

Yeah and it's on both sides. Some people are really racist. Some people just have preferences and get improperly labeled a racist. That's the problem with the net - every idiot has a voice.

From Dragonmount.com forums, looks like we may get a news dump tomorrow. Likely more casting.
The first Wednesday of every month, they have a wheel of time Wednesday. So that makes sense. I'm guessing they'll announce Thom, Logain, Min and Padan Fain. Maybe Elaida too. Or I'm hoping.

Both are absolutely integral to the story. Loial and the Ogier for a myriad of reasons (the Ways and Waygates chief among them in the early books) and the revelation that the Tuatha'an and the Aiel having the same origin in the Da'shain Aiel and the Way of the Leaf is what breaks the Aiel, which is about as crucial a plot point as there is.AtlAg05 said:

SIAP but where is the best place to read summaries/synopses of the first 8 books if I want to get back into this and finish it out? I think I would do same for books 9-11 and then actually read Sanderson's books? I believe that is the general consensus.

Roose Bolton would be great for Tam. He is too chiseled and authoritative for Fain. I'm on book 2 of my reread and Ramsey Bolton would work well for Fain to be honest. Very annoying and sniveling character.
