Lanfear is killing it though.
In the books, Lanfear is supposed to be the most beautiful woman on the planet. The show checked off this box by casting a 7 or 8 for Lanfear, and then casting nobody else above a 5.

After I gave up on hoping it would hold truer to the books, I've enjoyed it much more. I think it would be hard for anyone that hasn't read the books to figure out what's going on sometimes and who is who?
I think they did a good job on most of the characters but a couple. The actress playing Egwene is pretty awful. Also, very disappointed in Loial. I know it would be expensive to have him as a CGI character but I always pictured him much larger in the books than what they are portraying him. They also don't give him the proper sense of humor and youthful bashfulness that made him so likeable in the books. I wasn't too sure about Perrin at first but he's starting to fill out that roll. The actress playing Nynaeve is just as annoying as the character in the book. Easily my least liked character who Jordan gave waaaay too much attention to trying to flesh her out in the books as somehow interesting.
This season does seem to be better. I really need to watch the first few episodes of S1 to pin down exactly why. Probably a combo of things. Off the top of my head:Madmarttigan said:
This show actually gets better and better unlike LOTR I got bored of and quit already last season.

No he just is kind of there imo.
Book spoilers
Im curious how or if we get into snakes and foxes this season, since the hanging scene is foreshadowed, but he didn't go to the Aiel Waste with Rand.

I am really enjoying the moghedien portrayal. Very creepy and unhinged. Another a solid episode. I've seen enough that I now hope there is a fourth season.

Remind me, is there a reason they need consent to turn people into Gray Man, without mind controlling them?

That was a great episode. I really hope people can make it past season 1 blunders to give this show another chance.
It is getting better and better. It's amazing how much better the fights with the trollocs seem in this episode vs season 1.
