Could be a health issue as well. I would imagine he would not have booked many other gigs knowing he was part of a show that is planned for at least 8 seasons. They announced fairly early on that it was renewed for Season 2 as well.
Definitely possible as well. Obviously hope that's not the caseThe Dog Lord said:

As long as his producing responsibilities don't get in the way of him finishing mistborn and starting on book 5 of stormlight.
Brandon Sanderson is proof that terminator exists but instead of trying to kill Sarah Connor, it just came back to write fantasy. Sanderson is out there, it can't be bargained with, it can't be reasoned with, it doesn't feel pity or remorse for ****tier writers like Rothfuss, and it absolutely will not stop ever.boboguitar said:

I was so disappointed with rhythm of war, it completely lessened my excitement for upcoming storm light books. And I LOVE way of kings. It's in my top 3 of books I have read. That's how much I disliked his latest.
Rhythm of War felt like a transition book. Most of these really big epics have a book (or books) where the battleship gets turned to head toward home, and that is what this feels like. I don't have any problem with the Navani chapters simply because her becoming a Bondsmith who can fully utilize Urithiru, and the fabrial science made sense as to why she got the siblings attention. I also think something extremely interesting is coming from the fabrials. I get the mental health aspect and I appreciate it, but that's enough. Lets move on. they have both faced their demons, and now lets get back to the regularly scheduled programming. All of that said, RoW was my least favorite of the Stormlight books.Champ Bailey said:Micah97 said:

Im fine with the book as long as (spoilers for those who haven't read) Shallan and Kaladin both have gotten their identity crises figured out, or at least it's evolved. I will say though, his stuff with Kaladin, while repetitive from the last books, really strengthens the character, and resonates with anyone battling depression
I also think Sanderson outsmarted himself a little bit with the fabrial science stuff. I appreciate that he is talented enough to do such a deep dive into the physics of his magic, but I think he spent too much time on it last go around. I think if the book had cut out maybe 3 navani chapters and included 3 more Dalinar chapters instead, I would have liked it way more.
As the books get more and more cosmere aware, I'm interested to see how he juggles all 16 magic systems in a meaningful way, while also not detracting from the main story of Roshar. It will be an incredible feat to pull that off, but I think he will deliver.

But that's not how mental health works.

Agreed. I'm personally aware of that, but this is a high fantasy novel not a book about mental health.
Not sure about the scene period. For instance Rand was not there when Lan and Moraine first arrived, the scene with Rand first meeting Moraine was during the day and I am not really sure what Rand and Perrin are supposed to be talking about (maybe the "ceremony" is a reference to eqwene being allowed to braid her hair).AtlAg05 said:
Huh.
I like the look and feel, but not sure about the choice of that scene for a trailer. Cool entry by Lan/Moiraine but then just fades to awkwardness. I'm sure it'll flow better once you're watching the episode
I love the fantasy genre and i want to love this show but man...between this and the trailer, the production value looks so...flimsy. Bezos should hire the set/production crew behind GoT for a show like this.Micah97 said:

Yep, I read the first book when it came out in 1991. Thirty years later I remember dick all about this entire series. I stopped reading after finishing book 8.Chipotlemonger said:
For me it has been long enough from my read of the series, especially those first handful of books, that I cannot recall the more minor scene-to-scene details like this. I imagine that for a lot of people who read the books it may be the same way.
Either way, I agree with Micah. I am excited to see the adaptation.

To be fair, we don't know what they have before or after this scene in relation to explaining Moraine's intentions. For all we know right after this scene Moraine talks to Lan about their task.
