Just finished binging it over the last few days.

I tried when it first came out, said nope and never read anything else about it going forward. Actively avoided discussion with WoT fans etc. Haven't even read this thread. Before it came out I'd say I was "cautiously optimistic."

Waiting all this time and then watching it for what it is without any outside input was a good choice for me. I'll say that I enjoyed it, while there were parts I was disappointed with there are other parts I'm really glad they changed or added in. I wouldn't recommend it, especially not to die hard readers, but for the time I spent watching it I enjoyed it and hope that they do another season. Hopefully it gets better.

They're already filming season 2 and expect it to be out in the fall. I just hope it gets better, and we get more than 2 seasons. I'm really not hopeful though based on S1.

As many problems as season 1 had, I'm glad we're getting at least 2 more. It won't ruin the books for me no matter how bad it gets, but now it has a chance to improve. And I like seeing the world brought to life at a minimum.

I think Nynaeve is the best actor on the show. The storyline choices for her are confusing though.

The fact that Rosamund Pike has production/director privs and is cast in this show...is the REASON for all most of the F/U...

Cannot stand her. She is the most benign, vanilla, emotionless actor in the 'Wood.

Perhaps it was a poorly worded sentence. The actor who plays Rand is the only one they nailed (I'm fine with both actors playing Mat), but yeah, that woman is pretty close to what I think of when I imagine Elayne.

I think she's fine. I imagined lighter-colored hair and curls, but I'm just hoping she's a good actress. I think the Mat replacement fits, but same thing, about waiting to see if he can act the part.

Yep, season peaked around episode 3 or 4.

That being said, why the heck are Seanchan, Loial, and the Dark One all in a shot together?

Is there a good bullet point summary anywhere of the story differences so far?

I've read all of the books so feel free to spoiler tag away and tell me all what should happen in the Great Hunt, it's been over a decade since I read that one.

Will only watch if the reviews indicate it's significantly better, or I have nothing else to watch at the time, and even then it might be iffy. Show was one of the bigger disappointments in recent years,

Only reason I finished the show was Lan/Moiraine, though that's not surprising. I was always more interested in the aes sedai and warders than the 3 boys.

Helps that Lan is a hottie.
